Serama Babies

Well… I can’t believe this but we ended up with NINE hatchlings despite that whole 105 degree spike in the incubator. They are amazing! They popped out of their eggs already super chubby, caught onto the food and water bowl without me showing them, are super quiet, and very very docile. Usually these Serama chicks are psychotic for the first three or so days until they get used to handling. Not this batch! I couldn’t be happier. Three of them came from a Silkie hen so there’s a possibility I might end up with some silkies (though I’m not sure how much of a chance – I think the rooster is just a carrier which would give me I think a 75% chance on each chick. Not bad.)
